Putting the Support On
If possible, get someone else to help you put this support on the first time. Once it is fit properly, it is easy to put on by yourself. If you are fitting this support by yourself, you may have to spend more time adjusting the straps.
Remove the Velcro flap at the end of the arm sleeve and reattach as it loosely as possible
Undo the Velcro on the long strap and pull it through the D-Ring on the front of the shoulder sleeve so that it’s only attached to the D-ring on the back.
Put your arm through the arm sleeve and pull it up until it is resting comfortably on your shoulder.
Grab the Velcro end of the long strap and pull it back through the D-ring on the front of the shoulder sleeve. Attach the Velcro end to the strap going across your chest so that it’s comfortable – not too loose or too tight.
If possible, get someone else to adjust the strap on the back of the support so that it pulls your shoulder back slightly. If you are fitting the support on your own:
Note how far you pulled the Velcro strap through the D-ring on the front
Undo the strap on the front of the support
Take the support off and reattach the Velcro strap on the front of the support in the same place it was
Adjust the placement of the Velcro on the back strap so that it is tighter by 1-2 inches
Put the support on again and assess the fit
Readjust as necessary
Tighten the Velcro flap around the bicep so that it is comfortably snug.
Taking the Support Off
Loosen the Velcro tab on the bicep so that the sleeve is loose
Loosen the Velcro strap on the front of the support without letting the strap go all the way through the ring
Put your free arm on the inside of the chest strap and pull the strap over your head
Slide the bicep sleeve off your arm
Leave the support in this configuration to make it easy to put it on next time.
Careful washing will prolong the life of the brace. Remove all stays before washing. Hand wash with a non-detergent washing solution, and air dry (away from the sun and heating vents). Do not put the brace in the washing machine or dryer.
