Is the Contoured Wrist Stabilizer for me?

This brace is ideal for those with:

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Tendonitis
  • Arthritis
  • Moderate sprains or strains
  • Post-cast

Description:

This brace relieves pain by immobilizing the wrist and holding it in a neutral position. Over time, your wrist will heal as it isn't being stressed by continuous movement.

This brace is made by Ortho Active, a family-owned business based near Vancouver BC. Their products are designed to stand up to regular wear and tear, so you won't have to worry about seams coming apart or metal stays popping out and digging into your skin.

Features:

  • Two rigid metal stays (one on the palm side, one on the top side) that keep your wrist from moving. They are removable, can be bent to fit your hand, and are shaped to fit around the bones in your wrist for maximum comfort.
  • Made of durable, latex-free 3mm Neoprene which keeps the wrist warm, and promotes blood circulation to speed the healing process.
  • A design that allows full thumb and finger movement. The brace won't rub against your skin while typing, eating, etc.
  • It is easy to put the brace on and adjust its tightness.

How to put your brace on:

    1. Undo the Velcro on the centre strap, loosen and reattach as loosely as possible.
    2. Undo the Velcro on the two larger straps and reattach them to the brace as loosely as possible.
    3. Hold the brace with the thumb hole facing up and pull it onto your hand/wrist like a sleeve, allowing your thumb to protrude through the hole as the brace slides over your hand.
    4. Tighten the narrow centre strap and reattach so that it’s comfortably snug, then repeat with the two larger straps.

How to take your brace off:

    1. Unfasten the two larger straps and leave them unattached.
    2. Undo the Velcro on the centre strap, loosen and reattach as loosely as possible.
    3. Slide the brace off your hand like a sleeve.
    4. Once the brace is off, loosely reattach the two larger straps and leave the brace in this configuration for when you want to use it again. This will make it easy to apply your brace next time and stop the Velcro from attaching to the inside of the brace when not in use.
Careful washing will prolong the life of the brace. Remove all stays before washing. Hand wash with a non-detergent washing solution, and air dry (away from the sun and heating vents). Do not put the brace in the washing machine or dryer.
